ZOMG!
IT'S ALL A FAKE!
I should've known.
Well in fact I did know but they make it seem so REAL!
All the celebrities are FAKE on LiveJournal.
But anyway it's fun to read it.
Actually here's the THING from "MUST BE POP"
You reached this page via a link from
www.livejournal.com.
The "celebrity" whose journal you read IS NOT THE ACTUAL CELEBRITY. The author/maintainer of that journal is a participant in a role playing game (RPG) where people portray adults in the entertainment industry (music, movies, TV, theater), adults in professional sports, child stars, children of famous parents, other relatives, friends, etc. of famous people, agents, managers, and other entertainment industry professionals, royalties, politicians, and socialites.
The journal is produced and written by a fan and is meant for entertainment purposes only. The thoughts contained in the journal are not those of the celebrity, nor are they meant to represent the actual thoughts, actions, lifestyle or image of the celebrity. They are a fictional interpretation and not meant in any way to be an accurate depiction. They are absolutely false and based on a public image, and are not meant to reflect the person's private life. No harm, misrepresentation, libel, malice or copyright infringement is intended. At no time is this meant to be construed as reality. We have no idea what we're talking about. We have no connections to the celebrity. We have no inside knowledge. This is a fairy tale.
We believe that these journals are in no way
libellous as there is no malicious intent, and no intent to misinform fellow roleplayers or anyone who may read the journal. We also believe that this constitutes "fair use" under section 107 of the
US Copyright Law. These journals are nonprofit and meant as a commentary on a public image and not meant to use that public image for any personal gain.
Please do not contact us asking if we are the real celebrity. Each participant will direct you back to this page.
Also know that these journals may contain adult content. We suggest you be 18 or at the age of legal consent in your state to read them. If you're going to join the RPG, be mindful of the fact that the chat rooms and Instant Messages also contain adult content and it is not recommended for underage participants.
If you have any questions about this, please send an email to

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Short. To the point. Read it. Know it. Love it.
Are you guys real? Are you really the real celebrities? No. Some of these celebrities keep journals on their official homepages, others don't have the inclination or time to keep an online journal at all. We don't even know them, and we know nothing of their personal or private lives. Anything we say in these journals is just fun, fantasy and speculation based on the public personnas of these people. Do not believe anything that is written in the journals within the Must Be Pop Role-Playing Game.
Why do you have so many of them as gay?We don't know the sexual orientations of these people. We aren't trying to say that they are gay in real life. We don't know if they're gay in real life. Many of us, however, are into slash. Slash is homoerotic fan fiction that portrays sexual and romantic relationships between two or more people of the same gender. None of us around here think that being gay is such a bad thing.
What if I want to leave a nasty message in your journal telling you that I think what you're doing is wrong?Don't. Most of us have disabled anonymous posters. Even if you do it through your LiveJournal account, we'll likely either delete your message or mock you. You're wasting your time.
Don't you guys have lives or anything better to do other than sit around pretending you're pop stars and actors? No.
What if I want to play? Then go ahead and play. The rules of the game are very basic and can be found
here. You'll need a LiveJournal, an icon and a willingness to work and play well with others. Find a celebrity who is not yet in our game, create a journal, post an update and THEN register by leaving a comment to
the first entry here. You will get a comment back within 24 hours, to let you know that your registration has been processed.
Important: LJ Abuse asks for fake celebrity journals to have "appropriate disclaimers." That means: - http://www.geocities.com/must_be_pop2001 needs to be your home page,- you must have a disclaimer statement in your user information (example: "This journal is fake and not written by the real celebrity.")- there has to be a disclaimer or link to an outside disclaimer on each of your LJ entries. The easiest way to comply is to add the
code to your journal overrides.
Some journals are started and then the people who started them lose interest and want to hand them over to someone else. These journals are listed in a community called faker_adoptions. You can head over there to see if any existing journals are up for grabs. If you don't know who to play, go have a look at the suggestion list in our suggestion community called mbp_suggest.
What if I want to play a celebrity who's already there?Too late. We work on a system of first dibs: the first to register is the official MBP impersonation. If another person registered first, you have to find someone else to play. There are still lots of options and lots of people connected to the current Must Be Pop stars who haven't been taken yet.
How do I get into the must_be_pop community?First of all, you must be an official impersonation in the MBP universe. That means you must be registered. You also must have all the required disclaimers, at least three entries in your journal and one week of seniority (we go by the information in the full user information). If you are on the masterlist with an appropriately disclaimered journal that is over a week old and has more than three entries, then go to the must_be_pop user information and apply for membership to the community by clicking the "To join this community, click here"-link. New members get added every weekend.
But there's no one good LEFT! *stomps foot and whines*There are tons of great celebrities left. Turn on the radio and television. Look through magazines, yellowpress, record stores, and imdb. Surf the net. Go to mbp_suggest and faker_adoptions. Think out of the box of Top 40-music and the three biggest blockbusters of the season.
Anything else? This is very important to know: We have a "dead journal" guideline. If your journal isn't updated for six weeks, your celebrity is considered up for grabs. This is because it's frustrating for people who do update to play around someone who is never there, and it's also frustrating for someone who wants to play your character and devote themselves to it to see the journal sit there not being updated. Six weeks should be lots of time for you to think of something to say.
By the same token: if you want to play a celebrity who is listed on the masterlist, but whose journal has not been updated in 6 weeks or longer, you are free to create a new journal for that celebrity. Don't forget to
register!
It's also not advised to go out of character any more than absolutely necessary.Anonymity is your friend. Do not give away your real life information! This is the internet - you never know who is on the other end of the line. Besides, this is a lot more fun when we don't know the person behind the pixels. Also, keep in mind that what happens in character isn't serious. We bicker, we hook up and we make love and war. None of us take it personally.Do not give out your password(s)! If you give someone your password, they can do whatever they want with your account. If you want to keep power over your account, keep your password a secret. LJ is really stressing the importance of secure passwords, and so are we.
